BRADGATE BEARS by Judy Follows
Judy has named her bears after Bradgate Country Park situated close to her home in Leicestershire, former home in the 16th century of Lady Jane Grey, Queen for nine days. Judy started making bears 3 years ago when she was working at a special school for children with profound learning difficulties. The school needed to raise money for play equipment so Judy was asked to make teddy bears to sell at the summer fair. Fortunately teddy bear kits were donated to the school from which Judy learnt all the basics as she had no previous experience at making bears. After the fair Judy wanted to make more and more. The bears have come a long way since then and nowadays Judy concentrates on making these lovely little girls with influences taken from her own well loved antique Steiff bears using vintage fabrics and accessories sourced from all around the world.
