Jane lives with her husband on Vancouver Island, B.C.
Canada. sharing their lives with horses, two dogs, one elderly cat, and numerous visiting
children and grandchildren.
Before getting into the "bear" business Jane was a potter for many years with a
line of decorative and functional stoneware. On leaving the pottery business Jane started
designing craft patterns which she sold through various fabric and craft shops, mail order
magazines and sewing shows. On a trip to England in 1991 Jane noticed an abundance of
teddy bears, and thought a bear would make a great addition to her line of patterns. Of
course once she got started making the bears, she just couldn't stop. Jane now
concentrates exclusively on bears, both patterns and finished bears, and really enjoys it.
