MAY AUCTION in aid of China Bear Rescue

"DOWN TO THE WOODS" made and donated by Maria Collin of Púca Bears and Mikki Klug of Cripple Creek Creative You are bidding on the group in the above photo complete with all accessories as shown. The two bears, Slim and Shadey together as "Close to the Chest" won a British Bear Artist's Award in 2006 for Maria and together with Mikki's needle felted animals as "Down to the Woods", were awarded a Toby Industry's Choice Award in 2007.
Slim was made from a luxury feathered mohair in a pale sand colour.
Shadey was made from a dense, luxurious honey brown mohair.
Both bears measure 10" in seated position and approximately 16" from head to toe when laid flat. They have needle felted muzzles with embroidered noses, glass button eyes and cashmere pads. Maria has given them cleverly shaped paw pads with fingers and thumbs so they can hold their playing cards more easily and the foot pads are needle sculpted to give them toes. They both have extra joints at the wrist and there is a wire armature in their arms - all for extra posing possibilities.
Mikki's animals were all made from natural wools which were needle felted over a wire skeleton. They all have glass eyes and hand shaded pastel and watercolour detail. The little chipmunk and both skunks have fine wire whiskers. The frog and chipmunk measure approximately 1.75" high to the head and 3" long. The larger skunk is approximately 6" by 5" high and the smaller is 5" by 5".
"Down to the Woods" was made with a huge amount of love, care and attention to detail and donated by the artists with love in order to help the Moon Bears of China. With that in mind, we ask you to bid with a generous heart and the knowledge that you can help some of those bears still imprisoned on farms in China to a better life; free of pain, misery and suffering.
