FACTS ABOUT OUR AUCTIONS (ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS WE ARE FREQUENTLY ASKED). We have been holding auctions to raise money for the Animals Asia Foundation since 2003 and have so far raised over GBP 34,000 to help towards their work with the Moon Bears in China and Vietnam. Abracadabra does not take a fee for the arranging of these auctions. All funds raised will be transferred to the Animals Asia Foundation. The only costs that are retained are those paid to us to cover postage of the item and the fee which we incur for taking payment by credit or debit cards. The items which are offered in the auctions do not contain real fur or anything which involves cruelty to an animal. Mohair is obtained from the angora goat by shearing and is passed through various processes before being woven onto a cotton backing ready to be cut out and made into a teddy bear. It is an expensive fabric and has been used for over 100 years in the manufacture of teddy bears. Ultrasuede, used for paw pads and accessories of all kinds is another word for faux suede. Bids will be recorded in GB pounds. If you bid in the currency of your country we will convert to GBP at the daily rate of exchange. If you are the winning bidder, you will be charged in GBP and that will be converted back to your currency by your payment provider so you may see a slight difference between what you bid and what you are finally charged. At the bottom of each page, under the bidding history, you will find the auction terms and conditions. Please read these. Only money raised from the auction will be donated to Animals Asia. All other items for sale on the website are part of the Abracadabra Teddy Bears business and are in no way connected to our fund raising.
